Jets to sign CB Morris Claiborne

Instead, he'll play in in NY and try to fill the shoes of Darrelle Revis.

The Jets needed a cornerback, badly. Carr was a solid starter in Dallas and will likely start opposite Jimmy Smith in the Ravens' secondary.

According to the team's official Twitter account, the Ravens have signed former Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr to a 4 year deal.

The deal comes as somewhat of a surprise as the Ravens were reported to be the favorite to land Carr's Cowboy teammate, Morris Claiborne.

Brandon Carr signing a 1-year deal with series of options to make it a 4-year, $24M deal w/ Ravens, per source.

That leaves the Cowboys without their two starting corners from the past several seasons. Late word just came in that Claiborne is headed to the Jets.

But there's a major caveat: Claiborne's injury history.

Claiborne, who was the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, has spent all five years of his professional career with the Dallas Cowboys.

Claiborne has never played a full season and hasn't played more than 11 games in a season since his rookie year when he played in 15 games.

For the season, he finished with 26 tackles, an interception, a fumble return and five pass deflections in seven games.
