Selena Gomez Teases Smoky New Song From 13 Reasons Why

"And we wanted to show that you can get help, that Hannah misses opportunities for help and that teens around her have opportunities to help her". The singer recorded a slow, sultry version of the original upbeat 80's song, "Only You".

"After 6 years waiting to find the ideal Hannah and Clay for @13reasonswhy I couldn't be luckier we cast these two", Gomez wrote in February. Teens are the intended core of the 13 Reasons Why audience, but this is a show that believes teens are capable of watching the things teens are capable of doing. Though Gomez doesn't act on the show, she lent her music stardom to the series" soundtrack - she covered "Only You" by the short-lived (but iconic) "80s synth-pop band Yaz. Some of her smartest conversations, we see, are with other girls, before those girls fall back into competition and degrading other girls. Clay's world changes when he finds a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch.

Gomez has faced her own trials - in August, she checked into a treatment facility in Tennessee, citing that she was having anxiety, panic attacks and depression as a result of her lupus - but told ET that she's in a really great place right now. This required her to undergo chemotherapy and prompted her to cancel dozens of concerts a year ago and take a three-month hiatus, during which she reportedly sought help at a mental-health rehabilitation facility.

The 30-second teaser features the Mexican-American's sultry cover of Yazoo's 1982 song along with slowmo clips of the show's protagonists, Clay Jenson and Hannah. But who knows, by the story's end, maybe it's Hannah who's the tormentor, and they're, in fact, the victims? Hannah then says "You don't want to hear this", and the counselor responds with "Of course I do". Exhausted of others portraying a false idea of what every day life is. It's important to take these steps, but it's impossible to change the harsh reality that people in intense emotional pain will continue to glamorize self harm and suicide until they get the treatment they need and deserve.

In 13 Reasons Why, teenager Clay Jensen comes home from school one day to discover a box of old-school tapes cassettes on his doorstep. And since it's Friday, you do not have to wait a long time to slip the 13 episodes in a row.
