NFL prospect denies rape report made to police; no charges

Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley has been accused of rape, per USA TODAY.

McShay also said Florida defensive tackle Caleb Brantley was charged with battery after a woman told police he had punched her, and both MI safety Jabrill Peppers and Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster tested positive for diluted urine samples at the combine.

Conley's attorney, Kevin Spellacy, told that the accusations are "ridiculous and ludicrous". She accused Conley of forcibly having sex with her shortly after watching the other couple have sex. Police responded to a call from a 23-year old woman at Cleveland's Westin Hotel at 3 a.m. on April 9.

Conley, considered a top 15 pick by several NFL draft analysts, was planning on being one of the 22 athletes in the green room at the NFL draft on Thursday, but will now watch from home as he waits for his name to be called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. He could end up going from potential first-round pick to undrafted.

Former Ohio State corner Gareon Conley is a suspect in an ongoing sexual assault investigation. Conley was not at the hotel when police arrived. Police said Conley does not live in Cleveland but they are trying to track him down for an official statement. He said the woman was mad because she was kicked out of the room.

The report states the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and to be administered a rape kit. She met Conley while out with friends that same night, but made a decision to go back to Conley's room after leaving friends.

Conley, 21, strongly denies the accusation, per TMZ.

Spellacy told Channel 19 he has witnesses to prove Conley never was alone with the woman and that she was angry for being kicked out of the room. [The alleged victim] said she did not want to have a foursome.

The report states that the woman and Conley eventually walked into the bathroom before Conley allegedly unbuttoned the woman's trousers and pulled them down. She said she told Conley to stop.

Conley was a star defensive back at Ohio State University and has entered the NFL Draft that will begin on April 27.
